Earlier this month, representatives of Macmillan Cancer Support were at Parliament to promote their annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning fundraising campaign.
In 2012, 115,000 people signed up to coffee mornings across the country raising a record £15m in the process.
Over the last few years, I have held my own coffee morning in the Dumbiedykes area of Edinburgh and I am pleased to be doing so again this year.
Everyone is welcome to come down to the Braidwood Centre, 69 Dumbiedykes Road, Edinburgh between 2pm and 3pm on 27 September for tea, coffee, a biscuit and a chat with other residents in the area.
The event is free to attend and there will be a collection on the day for Macmillan Cancer Support. I’m delighted that this year Sheila Gilmore MP will be coming for coffee too.
Unfortunately one in three people will get cancer at some point in their life and funds raised on the day will help Macmillan Cancer Support to continue offering help and support to those living with cancer, their families and carers.
