Scottish Government Needs to Act to Ensure Sick Kids is Properly Maintained

Today’s Edinburgh Evening News carries a comment piece from me about the need for Scottish Government Ministers to enable investment by NHS Lothians to ensure that Edinburgh’s Sick Kids is properly maintained.  It will be 5 years before the much delayed new Sick Kids is expected to be completed and this huge delay means that the resources to invest in its upkeep simply aren’t there.  Lothian has the highest maintenance backlog and around half of its buildings being over 50 years old.   So we need the Scottish Government to sit down with NHS Lothian and sort out a solution.
